It’s 2012, and life for Western women is, on the whole, pretty good. We have access to good food, advanced medicine and we have the freedom to live our lives in any way we wish. We have a life expectancy of around 80 years and access to all the technological and mechanical wonders of the modern age.
Sometimes it feels as though life has always been like this and yet we only have to look back 100 years to see how much women’s lives have changed over the last century.
